How to Add Widgets on iPhone

Do you use an iPhone, and want to understand how to add widgets on iPhone? Before proceeding, you should know that you can only do this if your device is equipped with iOS 14 or later.

To put a widget on the iOS Home screen, perform a long tap in an empty spot on the home screen, until you see the app icons start to "dance". Then, press the (+) or Edit button located at the top left (in the case of iOS 18 and later you must also press the Add widget item), scroll the screen displayed on the screen until you find the app for which you want to add the widget (if you can't find it, you can help yourself using the search field at the top).

In the new menu that opens, scroll through the various available widgets and, once you have identified the one you like the most, press the (+) Add widget button. By doing so, the widget will be added to the Home screen: now all you have to do is position it where you prefer and, once this is done, press the Done button located at the top right.

If you deem it necessary and if the widget you have chosen supports modifications, after having inserted it on the home screen you can also customize it. To do this, press firmly on the widget for a few seconds, select the Edit widget item from the menu that appears and intervene on the options available in the screen proposed subsequently.

If you want, you can also create collections of widgets, as long as they are all the same format. To do this, add the widgets you are interested in to the home screen, proceeding as I just explained, and drag them one on top of the other. Once you have completed the changes, tap on the Done item at the top right.

If you then want to change the order of the widgets included in the collection or you want to activate or deactivate smart rotation, you can do so by holding down on them, selecting the Edit collection item from the menu and intervening via the next screen.

If you have second thoughts, you can remove a widget or a collection of widgets at any time by simply activating the mode to modify the home screen again, as I explained at the beginning of this step, by tapping the (-) button in the top left corner of the widget and confirming your intentions by selecting the Remove item in the box that appears on the display.
