How to remove Control Center from lock screen: Android

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where, despite your smartphone being locked, the Control Center remains accessible with a simple swipe? This behavior, while convenient in some circumstances (theft or loss of device), could represent a problem for the security of your device: anyone could, for example, activate or deactivate important functions such as Wi-Fi or data connection without unlocking the phone.

Disabling access to the Control Center from the lock screen is an operation that can certainly increase the security of your device, preventing unauthorized changes to the settings without unlocking it. For example, it is not possible to disable Wi-Fi or the data connection.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide you with specific steps for every Android smartphone or tablet on the market, but in general to disable access to the Control Center from the lock screen on Android devices, you need to change the settings related to the lock screen and notifications.

Once you open the Settings (by pressing the gear icon on the Home screen or in the application drawer), just find the Security menu, Lock screen, Notifications and status bar or another similar item and then search for the appropriate feature inside.

For example, if you have a Motorola smartphone with Android 14, you can change the lock screen features from Settings, pressing on Home screen and lock screen and then pressing on Lock screen. From here you can manage the options related to notifications and interactions in sleep mode.

Do you have a Xiaomi smartphone? After opening the Settings, tap on Notifications and status bar and, from the Status bar section, tap Items on the lock screen when scrolling down. All you have to do is conclude the operation by deactivating the Control Center option by moving the dedicated lever to OFF.

Do you own a Samsung smartphone? At the moment, One UI (the South Korean company's proprietary user interface) only allows you to prevent the deactivation of Wi-Fi and data connection from the Control Center when the smartphone is locked. We are talking about very important features for Find My Mobile. The latter, in fact, uses these connections to locate and control the smartphone in case of loss.

So, to proceed, first open the Settings. Once this is done, tap Lock screen and then Secure lock settings. After entering the unlock code, activate the Lock network and protection option by moving the dedicated lever to ON.
